Blooms early to mid-summer
Use lupines as a background plant or planted en masse for effect. They are listed as a perennial. In my experiece (I live in Zone 6) they are unreliable as a perennial-but worth the effort as a showy annual. Look for the Russel Hybrid for a multi-colored mix.
