Although I have no affiliation with the Dek-Block or Deckplans.com companies, I have built this deck myself using the plans from this link. I highly recommend it. It is amazingly simple, affordable and appropriate for even a novice. The site provides downloadable detailed instructions and diagrams. There is a box for you to type in the dimensions 12 x 12. There is even a materials list and cost estimator
included. Using this plan, I prefer to dig out my base and allow the deck to sit just above ground level. You can modify the plans to suit your
personal needs and preferences. After building the deck, you can use the free landscaping design template I've provided below.
